Program Descriptions

ACBC provides effective, evidence-based treatment for substance abuse and  integrated dual disorders.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Treatment

Outpatient Rehabilitation is provided 5 days a week for up to 4 hours daily.  Patients participate in 2 groups daily.  Each patient's daily group schedule is individualized to meet their treatment plan goals.  Schedules may include individual therapy, chemical dependency education group, specialty groups, process therapy group, and breakfast.  Vocational education, life skills, and nutrition are key components of this level of care.  This modality is for individuals who are in need of stabilization, increased community support, monitoring of medical issues, and relapse prevention. Outpatient Rehabilitation is a cost-effective alternative to traditional 28-day inpatient programs and allows the patient to remain in their community.  Our COD tract provides specialized care for those individuals who require treatment for their co-occurring psychiatric illness, with specialized groups to provide illness education and symptom management.  Psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring is part of treatment.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Intensive Outpatient Treatment, or IOP, is offered during daytime and evening hours, 3 to 4 days per week, for approximately 3 hours per session.  IOP is for individuals who need more intensive intervention and support to accomplish and maintain abstinence. IOP includes didactics in the form of lectures, presentations, videos and other media as well as therapy and process group.  We also provide COD IOP for those who require treatment for a co-occurring psychiatric disorder.

Aftercare Groups

Aftercare groups meet twice weekly for 1.5 hours, and are specialized groups for those who may have completed a higher level of care.  Aftercare focuses on applying recovery concepts to daily life, as well as establishing and maintaining sober support networks.

Relapse Prevention

Relapse Prevention meets twice weekly for 1.5 hours and highlights a cognitive-behavioral approach to avoiding relapse and identification of triggers.  Patients focus on developing relapse prevention strategies and coping skills. Cognitive behavioral therapy is used.

Basic Addictions Group

This group is offered for individuals who are new to treatment and do not require intensive services.  Basic Addiction Group meets either twice weekly, or once weekly, on Saturday, for individuals who may not be able to attend services Monday thru Friday. This group focuses on education and making healthy choices.
